The OTHER Myers House

One of the most memorable Mother's Days I’ve ever had was when my husband, @The_DrunkDragon, surprised me with a tour of The Myers House NC! Yes, you heard that right—he took me to a life-sized replica of the infamous Michael Myers house from John Carpenter’s 1978 horror classic HALLOWEEN. This eerie yet fascinating landmark is nestled in the quiet countryside of Hillsborough, North Carolina, and is the personal residence of horror enthusiast Kenny Caperton.

As we pulled up to the house, I felt an immediate thrill—a mix of nostalgia and spine-tingling excitement. The house is an uncanny reproduction of the one featured in HALLOWEEN, but with a few modern twists to make it livable. Kenny, the owner, has put so much love and dedication into replicating the exterior, down to the eerie front porch where you can almost imagine Michael Myers standing in the shadows. The best part? The house is located on over five acres of rural farmland, which adds to the feeling that you’re totally isolated—making the experience even more surreal.

Kenny gave us a personal tour, and he’s just as passionate in person as his story suggests. We learned about how he didn’t have any blueprints or even land when he first dreamed up this project. The sheer amount of research, dedication, and problem-solving he undertook to make his dream a reality is inspiring. The house closely resembles the exterior of the one from the movie, but interestingly, it’s Kenny’s version of The Myers House that has gained additional fame—Funko Pop Vinyl even created a reproduction of it. They based their design off pictures of Kenny’s home, not the actual HALLOWEEN house from Pasadena, California!

To make the experience even better, Kenny has a full-sized movie screen outside where he hosts movie showings drive-in style throughout the year. Imagine watching HALLOWEEN right in front of the Myers House itself—it’s a true horror fan's dream! Be sure to check out his website for more details on upcoming showings and events.

The tour ended with us wandering around the expansive property. Imagine being in the middle of nowhere with nothing but trees and open fields around you—it's the kind of setting where you’d almost expect Michael Myers to come strolling out of the shadows. It was an unforgettable experience that I would highly recommend to anyone, whether you're a die-hard HALLOWEEN fan or just love spooky things.

So, to my amazing husband @The_DrunkDragon, thank you for the best and most terrifying Mother's Day surprise ever! If you're looking for a unique gift or outing, definitely consider a trip to The Myers House NC—it's a scream!
